Getting started
How do I sign up?
Download Smart Sales Ledger from the App Store or Google Play, enter your mobile number, and verify with the one-time code we text you. The whole flow takes under a minute, no email required.
Do I need a computer to set up?
No. Smart Sales Ledger is designed mobile-first. Everything, adding customers, recording sales, generating reports, happens on your phone. There's a read-only web dashboard if you want to view your ledger from a browser.
Can I import customers from my contacts?
Yes. On first launch, you can grant contact access and Smart Sales Ledger will let you tap-to-add any customer in seconds. We never upload your contact list to our servers.
Billing
How does the free plan work?
The Free plan covers up to 25 customers and 50 transactions per month, forever. No credit card required. If your shop grows past those limits, we'll prompt you to upgrade. You can also stay on Free and start a new month's ledger.
Which payment methods do you accept?
UPI, all major debit and credit cards, and net banking. For Standard and Premium, you can also pay annually for two months free.
Can I cancel any time?
Anytime, from Settings - Plan inside the app. You keep paid features through the end of your billing period. We don't do prorated refunds, but we also don't do hidden charges.
Do you offer a discount for annual billing?
Yes. Pay annually and get two months free on both Standard and Premium.
Data & privacy
Where is my data stored?
Encrypted at rest on AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1). We never store your data outside India unless you explicitly opt in to a regional backup. Read the full Privacy Policy for specifics.
Can I export my ledger?
Yes. From Settings - Export, you can download every customer, transaction and invoice as CSV or PDF. We don't hold your data hostage.
What happens if I delete my account?
We immediately stop processing your data and remove your ledger from active databases within 24 hours. Encrypted backups roll off our servers after 30 days, in line with the Privacy Policy.
App
Does the app work offline?
Completely. Your whole ledger lives on your phone, record sales, view customers and generate the daily summary without any connection. The moment you come back online, everything syncs to your encrypted cloud backup.
Will it run on a 2GB-RAM phone?
Yes. We test on Redmi 7A, Realme C11 and similar devices every release. The whole app weighs under 18MB.
Does it support languages other than English?
Yes. Smart Sales Ledger speaks 9 Indian languages today: English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi and Gujarati. More are added each quarter.
Reminders & WhatsApp
How do WhatsApp reminders work?
When a customer's balance crosses your reminder threshold (default: ₹100 outstanding for 7 days), Smart Sales Ledger drafts a polite message in their language. You tap once to send it from your own WhatsApp. We never send messages on your behalf without consent.
Can I customise the reminder message?
Yes. From Settings - Reminders, you can write your own templates in any of the supported languages, with variables for the customer's name and balance.
